The 26th and 27th of march will see the 13th annual Joondalup festival take place. Every year since its commencement Freestyle Now has had the pleasure of running the bmx competition component of the festival. Over the last 6 or 7 years the competition has been dubbed the Joondalup Huckfest. It’s a mad two day competition right in the heart of one of Perth biggest festivals. The atmosphere at the competition is awesome. For 2011 the City of Joondalup will be offering $1000 in prize money paid in cash. As well as the cash there will be a stack of product to be given away thanks to Stowaway Distribution and Royal Bmx.
Grand Boulevard in Joondalup will be a strew of ramps, ledges and rails as once again, a course is set up in the confines of the area for the participating riders to use to their full potential. Classes for both beginner/novice and expert/pro will be on offer with the expert/pro riders taking a share in the cash.
Round two of F.N.W.A.S.S. (Freestyle Now Western Australian Skatepark Series) will take place at the Joondalup Huckfest but this will be for bmx only. On Saturday 26th March there will be a competition at the Willetton skatepark for skate, scooter and bmx. Only skate and scooter will receive the series points from this competition.
