2026 South Australian BMX Freestyle State Championships Heat Up at Muna Parra
The Aus Cycling South Australian BMX Freestyle State Championships rolled into Muna Parra Skatepark under a blazing 33°C sun, and the riders brought the heat! From under-7’s all the way to masters, the park was alive with energy, tricks, and pure BMX stoke. Families, friends, and local supporters packed in to catch the action, and everyone was treated to a showcase of skill, style, and progression across every age group.
Freestyle Now were stoked to deliver the first South Australian BMX State Championships in over 15 years, with the assistance of the SA Freestyle BMX Academy and Aus Cycling. The event was a long-awaited highlight for the local BMX scene, bringing riders, families, and fans together for a day full of progression and excitement, and serving as the perfect lead-in to the Australian BMX Freestyle Championships held a few weeks later in Melbourne.
The younger riders really set the tone for the day, showing courage, dedication, and heaps of stoke. Some were stepping into their first-ever BMX competition, and the nerves didn’t stop them from giving it their all. Many had been practicing their runs for weeks leading up to the event, while others had travelled hours just to be part of the action. Their energy and determination lit up the park, and it was inspiring to see so many kids pushing themselves, supporting each other, and showing what BMX is all about.
The older riders and masters brought serious power. In the under-15’s, Max Bradshaw, who travelled from Mildura, had a super dialed run with smooth flips and flairs, but it was the diversity and creativity of Seth Lewis-Christie’s riding that secured him first place, with tricks like his 360 to X-up lander that had the crowd buzzing. The Masters division was a showcase of skill and style. Shae Reddington went large and stylish, hitting the biggest airs with a rad lookback and inverted tabletops in pure Shae style. Joshua Castle was super dialed with a great range of tricks, and Jarryd Haynes rode smooth with a solid run, including a big disaster on the vert quarter, but the win belonged to Tarvis Reddington. He was relentless, stringing together trick after trick in the scorching heat, reminding everyone why experience and style go hand-in-hand. Every rider, from first-time competitors to seasoned veterans, pushed their limits and left the park flowing with energy.

Thanks to the support of SAF BMX Academy, Aus Cycling, Little Radlings Crew, South Coast Cycles, MV2 ADL, Dead Sailors Society, Rubber Side Down Global, and The Ramp Champ, the event ran smoothly and showcased the growing BMX freestyle community in South Australia. With a mix of first-time competitors, rising stars, and masters showing the way, the Muna Parra Skatepark proved once again that BMX freestyle in SA is alive, thriving, and only getting better.
The South Australian BMX Freestyle State Championships were a reminder that it’s not just about winning, it’s about progression, community, and celebrating the pure stoke of BMX riding. This event also set the stage perfectly for the upcoming Australian BMX Freestyle Championships, giving riders a chance to step up, show their skills, and test their tricks before the national showdown. We can’t wait to see the tricks, the energy, and the smiles back at next year’s SA State Championships!
