Freestyle Now School Presentation at Cottesloe Primary School: Inspiring 300 Students Through Action Sports

The best way to inspire is to show what is possible.

When Freestyle Now rolls into a school for a school presentation, it’s not just a show. It’s an experience designed to inspire, engage and leave kids walking back to class talking about what they just saw. Cottesloe Primary School got exactly that and then some.

The weather outside had other ideas on the day, bucketing down with rain from the start. But that wasn’t going to stop anything. In action sports when you commit to a trick you commit fully, there’s no halfway. Freestyle Now operates the same way. The ramps went up undercover and the team got to work turning a covered area into a full blown action sports arena for around 150 students who had absolutely no idea what was about to hit them.

The lineup was something special. Mandurah Skateboard Competition winner James Rixom, Mandurah Scooter Competition winner Mitch Bacon, Western Australian BMX State Champion Jacob Roughton and Freestyle Now scooter rider Oben McHoull all took to the ramps and showed the students exactly what dedication to a sport looks like when it’s taken all the way to the top. And leading it all was Australian BMX Hall of Fame inductee and Freestyle Now co-founder Shaun Jarvis, who brought the flatland BMX skills and the kind of presence that only comes from decades of doing this.

Every rider hit the ramps, every trick landed and the reaction from the 300 students packed in watching was exactly what you’d expect. Loud, enthusiastic and completely locked in from start to finish. But the Freestyle Now school presentation is about more than just the riding. Between the tricks the team spoke to the students about achieving their goals, the value of participating in sport and what skateboarding, scootering and BMX can offer young people in terms of confidence, progression and community. Real conversations from real athletes who have lived it.

A Freestyle Now school presentation is a fully self contained, professionally run program that brings action sports to life in your school environment. We bring the ramps, the riders and the message. All you need to provide is the students.

The presentation combines high energy BMX, skateboard and scooter riding with real conversations about goal setting, perseverance, the value of sport and how to pursue something you’re passionate about. It’s engaging, age appropriate and designed to connect with students of all backgrounds, including those who might not normally engage with traditional sports programs.

Freestyle Now school presentations are suitable for primary and secondary schools and can be tailored to your available space, whether that’s a gym, undercover area or outdoor court. Our riders are champions and title holders in their disciplines, giving students the rare opportunity to see and hear from athletes who have taken their sport all the way to the top.
