Big Air and Tight Battles at the Ellenbrook Dirt Jumps Competition
The Ellenbrook Dirt Jump Competition went down on the 13th of December 2025, and while the conditions were tough, the riding was anything but. With extremely hot weather and very little shade at the jump track, it was a challenging day for riders and spectators alike. Despite the heat, we still saw a solid turnout, which really speaks to the strength of the community and the stoke around getting sessions and competitions happening at Ellenbrook.
It was awesome to see a mix of old faces and new ones rolling through, throwing down runs and backing themselves on the jumps. The energy stayed high all day, with riders pushing through the heat and feeding off each other’s runs.
In BMX Intermediate, the competition between Kyfer Abbott and Seth Cooper was insanely tight and one of the highlights of the day. Both riders were pushing each other run after run, with the lead changing hands and the pressure building as the heat went on. In the end, Kyfer Abbott took the win by the narrowest of margins, edging out Seth Cooper by just 0.67 points. Brandon Nicholls rounded out the podium in third, with the whole class delivering some of the most competitive riding of the event.
BMX Open delivered some standout moments, with Maison Russell taking first place. Maison has not been riding much lately, but turned up to the event and reminded everyone exactly what he is capable of. His riding was dialled, and it was great to see him back on the bike and taking the win. Thomas Hollingworth secured second place with solid runs throughout the competition.
Clockwise from top left – first place winner in BMX Open, Maison Russel going hard. – Beau Kuckelkorn whippin it. – Young Logan Knibbs giving it his all. – Kyfer Abbott hitting a huge no hander for the win. Find the full album on our facebook page here.
The MTB Intermediate class saw Jacob Mills take the top spot, followed by Kyfer Abbott backing up his BMX result with second place. Lucas Okely finished in third, with all three riders showing strong control and flow through the line.
In MTB Open, Beau Kuckelkorn claimed first place with powerful and stylish riding, Zac Trainor took second, and Toby Winter finished third. This class brought big airs and plenty of hype from the crowd as riders pushed the jumps hard in the heat.
Alongside the main competition, we also ran a Best Whip comp, which was taken out by Beau Kuckelkorn after throwing down some seriously stylish whips that stood out from the rest. We also held a Best Trick on the roller competition, which was won by Maison Russell with a clean 360. Honourable mention goes to Zac Trainor for landing a barspin and keeping the crowd fired up.
All in all, it was a huge day at Ellenbrook Dirt Jumps. Massive respect to everyone who came out and rode in the extreme heat, supported each other, and helped make the event a success. We’re stoked to keep seeing the dirt jump scene grow and can’t wait to get back out there again soon.
