Bremer Bay BMX, Scooter & Skateboarding Competition – Celebrating Community and Progress
Bremer Bay, on Western Australia’s south coast, is known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and relaxed seaside vibe. Nestled at the mouth of the Bremer River, it’s a hub for outdoor adventures like fishing, boating, and exploring nearby Fitzgerald River National Park. Freestyle Now has been returning to Bremer Bay for the last 9 years to host an amazing community event at the skatepark. On Thursday, it was skatepark coaching, and Friday was another super rad skatepark competition, with the local community embracing the action sports vibes and creating a fantastic atmosphere for both the coaching session and the competition.
Bremer Bay marked our sixth year in a row delivering skatepark sessions for the community, and it continues to be a place that reminds us why we do what we do. The support from the local crew is unreal, and it was a special moment seeing Freestyle Now co-founder, Shaun Jarvis, awarded a certificate of appreciation for his ongoing contribution to the Bremer Bay community. Long-term relationships like this don’t happen by accident, and we’re proud to be part of their story. Enquire here to start a radical action sports story of your own.

The Thursday skatepark coaching session was well attended, with many skatepark participants in scooter, BMX, and skateboarding learning new skills and gaining confidence. This year the weather held, and there was no rain, dry skateparks equal more radness! The turnout for the skatepark competition was awesome, with riders across BMX, scooter, and skateboard divisions showing up ready to shred. As always, the Bremer Bay community came out to support. A special shout-out to the Bremer Bay Community Resource Centre for helping make this event possible, your support keeps the stoke alive and the community engaged. A surprise visit from competition regulars, the Knibbs family, added extra hype, with Logan and Dad Geoff competing and showing great riding. Standouts on the day included Joel Weller, who traveled the two hours from Albany to attend the competition and rode his BMX with confidence and skill, we can’t wait to see him at more events. Ayden Maley has been progressing well on the scooter and threw down bigger tricks than last year. Maeve Belton from Kalgoorlie was back again and took out third place in the skateboard beginners division, keep skating, Maeve!
Bremer Bay is one of our favourite towns to revisit, witnessing the progression of riders year after year. The Bremer Bay competition is more than just a contest, it’s a celebration of community, youth, and action sports. Bringing riders from near and far, the event gives locals a chance to shine, inspires young people to get active, and turns the town into a hub of energy and stoke. Beyond the ramps and tricks, it strengthens connections, showcases local talent, and highlights Bremer Bay as a vibrant, action-sports-friendly coastal town.
